NOPE! Ido not have a traditional photo studio. I don’t like portrait photography in studios. I think it’s kind of boring.
What I prefer, is a natural photo session at your favourite spots. You can choose your own location! My photo sessions are spontaneous and not set up, to preserve real moments and real feelings. I believe that your photo sessions are best captured through a series of images to tell your story…
For your baby, I prefer sessions at home. This is easier for you and your baby and it means less stress.
Nevertheless, I call the room where I edit my photos, meet my clients & spend the most time of the day (& night): studio. Weird... ;)
I will always own the copyrights (that's completely normal, since I'm the creator of the photos), but YOU will have every permission to do what you want with YOUR photos!
PLEASE, if you share them on Facebook or any other social network, please tag me with ARTHUR & MARY" (not Véronique Kolber).
Here are my common tags: FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM. THANKS!
The more freedom you give me, the better the results will be...
Let's meet and have a coffee or tea to talk about your ideas. Looking forward to get to know you! :)
This is a good question! But as every pregnancy is different, every woman feels different and this means, that there are no rules. But I've learned that between 33th and 36th week, the belly is not to small & not to big and that the mother-to-be is still fit enough to walk for 1 hour. :)
Well, wear what you love! If you feel best in a t-shirt & blue jeans, then do ahead. If you love your beautiful long summer pregnancy dress, go for it! The most important thing is, that this is YOU in the pictures, not any other pregnant woman whatsoever. BUT (there's always a but), please do not wear BLACK (both of you). Your belly will completely vanish in black clothes. Bright colours are OK, but please not to bright & flashy (NO bright RED please). The light will reflect these colours on your skin and it will be frustrating for you (and for me: hello Photoshop) :)
You saw my photos right? :) I love everything in a natural way. But if you want to go to your hair stylist, just go! No need to, but you can... Do as you please.
I will come to you. I normally begin with a brief session inside. Just you and your naked belly. PS: please put your leggings or tights (1 hour before our session) under your belly, to prevent these "un-pretty" marking stripes on your beautiful belly. We can also do a few photos of you and your partner inside your beautiful home (but these are not naked... don't be scared), and then we go outside for a walk. The first 5 minutes, will be very unusual to you, but then, I will somehow disappear and you completely forget that I'm there... By the way, the perfect location, is a non-location. Just have a look at my portfolio and you'll find out :)
Normally it takes about 1,5 - 2 hours max. PS: if it rains, we can always shift our appointment to another available day.
You should ask yourself, what kind of photos you want. If you want sleepy baby photos then go for the newborn session.
If you prefer baby photos of a smiling, laughing and "looking to the camera" baby, then go for the baby session.
- Newborn sessions: 5 - 12 days max
- Baby sessions: from the 4th month - 12 months max
The best time is normally in the morning or after a nap. (But I prefer morning sessions because the light is better then.)
For newborn sessions, feed your baby when I'm there. Just tell me a few hours in advance, when this will happen. It's best when your baby only wears a diaper, no pyjama or body. Just wrap your sweetie in a cosy warm blanket before feeding. After feeding, your newborn baby will be very tired and that's best for our photos.
For later sessions, it's always good, if your baby manages to lie on his tummy for quite a while (min 3 minutes straight) and hold his neck. You can help him to learn it and put your baby a few times per day on the tummy... What I also like, is when your baby is able to grab her/his feed. Gorgeous photos guaranteed! :)
I will bring some blankets and my camera. That's my part.
So if you want a special blanket for your photos or baby's little teddy bear or a special dress, just put everything together and we will use it. Please keep in mind, that I will not squeeze your baby into small boxes or things like that! I like my babies best in natural poses :) By the way, the room has to be snuggle warm, because I will take a lot of photos of your baby naked.
PS: don't forget your beautiful scarves! I will help you out there :)
The room with the most natural light will give us the best results.
So this could be your bedroom or even your living room. We can look at the possibilities when I'm there and decide on the day.
Hey! That's completely understandable. :) We will try our best and if it really isn't working, because it's not you baby's day, then we will make another appointment! It's as easy as that.
Be as free as a bird, but I don't like the blue jeans and white T-shirt look... (kind of boring and unnatural)
Just RELAX... Don't be to scared... I'm only shooting a few photos of you sweet munchkin! What could possibly go wrong? Just ENJOY our session!
The most frequently asked questions are:
WHERE ? WHAT ? HOW ? :)
Choose any location, I'll be there. :) (PS: don't forget your beautiful home and your lovely garden.)
Please refer to the second question (big belly sessions)
Just be natural. Don't stage. Play with your children. No worries, I will help you out... The first 5 minutes are unusual for you and this is normal... But after them, you completely forget that I'm there :)
PS: I loooove COFFEE :)
Please mail me, if you have additional questions... THANKS.
